Amulets and magical objects collected at Dakar's Senegal-rubbish dump

The ALEP Collection is a collection of amulets and magical objects that have been retrieved form Dakar’s rubbish dump since the beginning of 1985. This collection is constituted of ten thousand objects approximately.

You can find the ALEP Collection at 43, rue Buffon, Paris, in the premises of our team in the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle.

This fifth unit has a large number of different objects with translated directions for use (150), photos (more than 500) as well as videos (50 films) about the way these objects are used in daily life or in specific rituals.
